5 Minute Friday Word for April 5 is After
Today’s topic for 5 Minute Friday is After. Here the rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
After… There are so many things that come to mind with the word after. Here are a few of them:
- Before and after
- After all
- The sun is often brightest after the rain
Before and after — I right now am working again on a weight loss program. I am in the before category right now. I eventually hope to be in the after.
In the Weight Watchers magazine, they show the picture of people after the change in their lives and after the weight loss. They often will share the before picture and ask them about the changes that they have made.
I am ready to be an after.
Afternoon is a fun time of day and a time when a lot can be done. I often am busy with Ian in the afternoon. I have never been a morning person so I have to say this is probably my favorite time of day.
When I was working full-time, I took a late lunch — from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., so my afternoon left at work was very short. It was really nice.
After all is at the beginning of several songs. And, I have heard people use that in a sentence before. You will hear it occasionally on a medical drama, “After all, they are lucky to be alive after that accident or whatever.”
Is it supposed to be a positive statement or more negative? I will have to think about this!
Sun after the rain is often something we see in East Tennessee and North Carolina. There will be a day of storms, fog, clouds, and sometimes it looks like it is night-time outside, even in the middle of the day.
The following day is often gorgeous with not a cloud in the sky. Isn’t that interesting. The bad and then the good follows.
But now my time is up. What do you think about “after”? I would love to hear from you!
(I realized after writing this that I wrote for closer to 10 minutes since I lost track of the time once I got going. Ooops!)
