He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia

Hello and Happy Easter!  He is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!  Alleluia!

Here are the lyrics of one of my favorite hymns, “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today” —

“Jesus Christ is risen today Alleluia
Our triumphant holy day Alleluia
Who did once upon the cross Alleluia
Suffer to redeem our loss Alleluia

Hymns of praise then let us sing Alleluia
Unto Christ our heavenly king Alleluia
Who endured the cross and grave Alleluia
Sinners to redeem and save Alleluia

But the pains which he endured Alleluia
Our salvation have procured Alleluia
Now above the sky he’s king Alleluia
Where the angels ever sing Alleluia

Sing we to our God above Alleluia
Praise eternal as his love Alleluia
Praise him, all you heavenly host Alleluia
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost Alleluia Alleluia”

And, here are the words of a more contemporary song — “In Christ Alone” by Adrienne Camp

“In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me…”

May these words having meaning of all that Christ did for us so that we might live.

May you be blessed and comforted on this Holy day.  May you celebrate remotely with loved ones.

May you remember to always, always love.

He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!!

Easter liilyHe is Risen!!!  He is Risen Indeed!!!!  Alleluia!

Hello and Happy Easter.  Hope you have a wonderful Easter!  May you enjoy the true meaning of this amazing day.

I decided to repost parts of two Easter blogs.  We’ve had a crazy busy week and this weekend is full of times with family, church, and Easter Egg Hunts.

“He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.” — 1st Corinthians 15:4.  Amen!  That scripture says it all.

The words of a favorite song sum it up beautiful on this Easter morning.  He (Jesus) is alive and I’m forgiven!  Heaven’s gates are open wide.  Isn’t that amazing?  I sure think so.

Here are the words to one of my favorite Easter hymns.  I can just hear the organ and trumpets as I sing it:

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!

3 crossesHymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!

But the pain which He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He’s king, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!

Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
Praise eternal as His love, Alleluia!
Praise Him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia!

Another great song is “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”  May the words of this song have meaning to you:

I know that my Redeemer lives; what comfort that sweet sentence gives!  He lives, He lives, who once was dead; He lives, my ever-living head.

He lives triumphant from the grave, He lives eternally to save, He lives all glorious in the sky, He lives exalted there on high.

He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives, and I shall conquer death: He lives my mansion to prepare; He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives all glory to His Name!  He lives, My Jesus, still the same, Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives, I know that my redeemer lives!

Because He lives, so do we!  What a wonderful promise that is.

Today I am thankful for:

  • The excitement of a boy waking up early to enjoy his Easter basket
  • Wearing a pretty dress and hat
  • New nail polish to coordinate with that dress
  • A tasty breakfast with family and friends at church
  • Easter Egg Hunts with the family and at church
  • Flowers decorating the sanctuary
  • The organ playing favorite hymns
  • Our amazing choir
  • Lunch with family
  • My mother’s twice-baked potatoes
  • Remembering what Jesus did for me
  • A relaxing afternoon after all of the activity

May you have a wonderful Easter!
